A Father Raphael Pantaloni is a dedicated section of the Art Gallery, where you can admire, among the other, some preliminary sketches of his works.

Born in Santa Fiora, Province of Grosseto, 15 March 1888, in 1906 he became a Franciscan monk, changing his first name, Philip Alexius, in Raffaello. Its production in the Salento has the highest expression in the decoration of the church of St. Anthony in Fulgenzio, seat of the Province as lesser of Salento.

Here the Father trousers he completed the decoration of the apse divided into three bays: that of St. Anthony of Padua, one of St. Francis of Assisi and the Immaculate. And imposing neo-Gothic style that characterized his art, P. Raphael worked not with the technique of fresco, but a tempera painting on the wall. in the section of the gallery dedicated to him, you can retrace fully the whole activity Pants, also in the run his entry in the Franciscan Order.
